Abstract

In September 2024, there was year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Samarinda Municipality of 1.79 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.20.

The y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices indicated by an increase in almost all expenditure group indices, namely the food, beverage, and tobacco group by 3.32 percent; the clothing and footwear group by 2.65 percent; the housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 0.41 percent; the health group by 4.81 percent; the recreation, sports, and culture group by 1.85 percent; the education group by 1.87 percent; the food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 2.42 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 4.65 percent. In addition, there were three expenditure groups that experienced deflation, namely the household equipment, equipment, and routine maintenance group by 0.32 percent; the transportation group by 0.72 percent; and the information, communication, and financial services group by 0.64 percent.

The month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate of Samarinda Municipality in September 2024 were 0.01 percent and 1.07 percent, respectively.
