Abstract

In April 2024 there will be year on year (y-on-y) inflation in Samarinda Municipality of 3.20 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.65.

Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in almost all expenditure group indices, namely the food, beverage and tobacco groups by 9.15 percent; clothing and footwear group by 1.16 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.69 percent; health group at 3.36 percent; transportation group by 1.42 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 1.74 percent; education group of 1.45 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 1.04 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 2.56 percent. In addition, there were two groups of expenditure that experienced deflation, namely the equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group at 0.81 percent and the information, communication and financial services group at 0.58 percent.

The month to month (m-to-m) inflation rate and year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate for Samarinda Municipality in April 2024 are 0.78 percent and 1.49 percent respectively.
