Abstract

In February 2024, year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Samarinda Municipality was 3.04 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.51.

Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in almost all expenditure group indices, namely the food, beverage and tobacco groups by 7.84 percent; clothing and footwear group at 0.57 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.61 percent; health group by 2.98 percent; transportation group at 3.61 percent; information, communication and financial services group at 0.11 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 1.85 percent; education group at 1.49 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 0.75 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 1.47 percent. However, there was one group of expenditure that experienced deflation, namely the equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group at 0.30 percent.

The month to month (m-to-m) inflation rate and year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate for Samarinda Municipality in February 2024 are 0.33 percent and 0.41 percent respectively.
