Abstract

In January 2024, year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Samarinda City was 2.61 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.16.

Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in all expenditure group indices, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 7.26 percent; clothing and footwear group by 1.21 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.80 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group at 0.16 percent; health group by 2.96 percent; transportation group by 0.99 percent; information, communication and financial services group at 0.11 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 1.37 percent; education group at 0.94 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 0.99 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 1.29 percent.

The month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate and year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate for Samarinda City in January 2024 are 0.08 percent each.
