Abstract

  • In June 2020 out of 90 national CPI monitoring cities, 76 cities experienced inflation and 14 other cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Kendari by 1.33 percent and the lowest occurred in Makassar by 0.01 percent. While the highest deflation occurred in Ternate by -0.34 percent and the lowest in Padang Sidempuan by -0.02 percent.
  • Kalimantan Timur Province (Combined Samarinda Municipality and Balikpapan Municipality) in June 2020 saw inflation of 0.22 percent with a calendar year inflation rate of 0.85 percent and a year-on-year inflation rate of 1.52 percent.
  • In June 2020 there was inflation for Samarinda Municipality of 0.17 and Inflation in Balikpapan Municipality of 0.28 percent.
  • Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in several indexes of the expenditure group, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 1.28 percent; followed by transportation by 0.35 percent; recreation, sports and culture group by 0.16 percent; health group of 0.15 percent; food and beverage / restaurant supply group by 0.06 percent; and education groups tend to be stable by 0.00 percent. The group that experienced a decrease in index was the clothing and footwear group by -2.75 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel by -0.17 percent; the personal care and other services group by -0.15 percent; information, communication and financial services group by -0.06 percent; and household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance by -0.02 percent
