During December 2019, there was an inflation of 0.19 percent in Samarinda.

Abstract

The Province of Kalimantan Timur (Combined Municipality of Samarinda and Municipality of Balikpapan) in December 2019 experienced inflation of 0.40 percent with a calendar year inflation rate of 1.66 percent and a year-on-year inflation rate of 1.66 percent.
In December 2019 there was 0.19 percent inflation in Samarinda Municipality and 0.68 percent inflation in Balikpapan Municipality.
Inflation in Kalimantan Timur was affected by an increase in the price index in the transportation and communication group experiencing inflation of 1.26 percent followed by the foodstuff category experiencing inflation by 1.00 percent, the processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group by 0.15 percent and the group health with inflation of 0.03 percent. While the other 3 groups experienced deflation, namely the clothing group with deflation of -0.20 percent, the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group by 0.14 percent and the recreational and sports education group with deflation of -0.01 percent.
