Abstract

In January 2025, there was year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Samarinda Municipality of 0.10 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.26.

Inflation y-on-y occurred due to an increase in prices indicated by an increase in almost all expenditure group indices, namely the food, beverage, and tobacco group by 2.23 percent; clothing and footwear group by 2.47 percent; health group by 2.55 percent; transportation group by 0.39 percent; recreation, sports, and culture group by 1.66 percent; education group by 1.76 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 3.50 percent; and personal care and other services group by 5.29 percent. In addition, there were three expenditure groups that experienced deflation, namely the housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 8.56 percent; household equipment, tools, and routine maintenance group by 0.58 percent; and the information, communication, and financial services group by 0.90 percent.

The month-to-month (m-to-m) deflation rate and the year-to-date (y-to-d) deflation rate of Samarinda Municipality in January 2025 were 1.31 percent and 1.31 percent, respectively.
